Airport to Kandy

The Kandyan kingdom, located 488 meters above sea level, is the last stronghold of the Sri Lankan monarchy and to this day, the city stands strong in the knowledge of this proud legacy. From 1590, for 225 years, Kandy was the Capital city, the kingdom of the island and home to the Sacred Tooth Relic.

The Elephant Stables is a beautiful Colonial period bungalow on a hill overlooking Kandy. It was the home of Adigar Sir Cuda Ratwatte (1880-1950) who was a Ceylonese nobleman, and the first person from Kandy to be awarded a knighthood from the British.

Visit to Royal Botanical gardens – Peradeniya

At one time these beautiful botanical gardens were reserved exclusively for Kandyan Royalty. Today they’re the largest botanic gardens in Sri Lanka, covering 60 hectares and bounded on three sides by a loop of the Mahaweli Ganga.

Cooking lesson in the noon, you could have authentic rice and curry for lunch and the fun you could practically join in hands with local housewife and get a close look how to prepare it first hand.
